Amazon Ordered to Charge for Shipping in France
The high court in France has ruled that Amazon.com cannot offer free shipping on
book deliveries in that country, according to an IDG story in The New York Times.
The French Booksellers’ Union filed the action in 2004, accusing Amazon of offering
illegal discounts on books and of selling some books below cost.
